Summerville Catholic School: Supporting and Honoring Military Families in the Tri-County Area

The Charleston/Berkeley/Dorchester County area is home to several military bases, including
Joint Base Charleston, the US Coast Guard Base, the Naval Weapons Station, and the Nuclear
Power Training Facility.
 

As a Purple Star School, we have established programs and resources specifically designed to
ease the transition for military families. From a dedicated staff point of contact to a tuition
discount and flexible enrollment practices, we strive to ensure that new students quickly feel at
home. We work closely with families to provide academic continuity and social-emotional
support, helping students thrive.

Our commitment extends beyond the classroom as we actively celebrate and honor the service
of military families throughout the year. From assembling care packages for our deployed
military during Catholic Schools Week to a special rosary to pray for our Nation, we are proud
to stand alongside our military families. We offer not only an education rooted in faith and
values, but also a strong, compassionate community they can rely on.
