Inclusive Education
At Summerville Catholic School, we believe that every child is uniquely created by God with individual gifts, strengths, and learning needs. Our goal is to provide a nurturing Catholic environment where students are supported academically, socially, and spiritually as they grow toward their God-given potential.
As a smaller school community, our ability to provide specialized services is limited. For this reason, students with professionally diagnosed learning differences may be admitted when their needs can be appropriately supported within the resources and programs available at Summerville Catholic School.
Families are encouraged to apply and share any relevant educational evaluations, learning plans, or professional recommendations during the admissions process. The administration will carefully review each student's needs in partnership with the family to determine whether the school is able to provide the appropriate support for the student to succeed.
When a student with identified learning needs is admitted, the school and family work together to develop an annual plan outlining reasonable accommodations, expectations, and shared responsibilities. This collaborative partnership helps ensure that students receive the support they need while maintaining the integrity of the classroom learning environment.
Our goal is always to place each child in an educational setting where they can thrive academically, spiritually, and socially.
If you have questions about whether Summerville Catholic School may be a good fit for your child, we encourage you to contact our administration to discuss your child's individual needs.
A Collaborative Partnership
Successful support for students with learning differences requires a strong partnership between the school and family. Families are expected to provide appropriate documentation, communicate openly with school leadership, and work collaboratively with teachers to support the student's learning plan.
