Volunteering in our community is a key part of our culture here at Summerville Catholic School, and we see service as a direct expression of God’s love. Throughout the year, we partner with several charity organizations serving the less fortunate in the Tri-County area.  For Christmas, we packed 500 boxes full of toys for children in need through Operation Christmas Child. We collected hundreds of pairs of socks for the homeless through East Cooper Community Outreach, and held a pet supply drive for neglected animals at the Charleston Animal Society. We are also continuously collecting pop-tabs for the Ronald Mcdonald House as well as non-perishable food donations for our school Blessing Box. Not only are we giving back to our community, but we are instilling in our students the importance of Christian charity!

At Summerville Catholic School, our students experience hands-on learning beyond the classroom through exciting educational field trips that bring our lessons to life. From exploring wildlife and ecosystems at the Dill Sanctuary and Camp St. Christopher, to discovering the wonders of the universe at the Charleston Planetarium, and stepping back in time to study natural history at Old Santee Canal Park or Charlestowne Landing, each trip enriches our curriculum with real-world connections. These adventures inspire curiosity, teamwork, and a deeper appreciation for God’s creation, helping our students grow academically, spiritually, and socially.

We had a wonderful morning celebrating our Pet Blessing in anticipation of the Feast day of Saint Francis of Assisi. Many adorable dogs, lovable cats, and even some reptiles visited us! The kids loved seeing their family pets and the pets enjoyed the extra snuggles. Thank you to Fr. Ray from St. John the Beloved for blessing our beloved furry friends.

One of our favorite traditions at Summerville Catholic School is our Prayer Buddies program! Older students are paired with younger classmates to grow together in faith, friendship, and community. Through this special partnership, our students learn about God, model positive SCS behavior, and build meaningful relationships across grade levels.

Prayer Buddies spend time praying together, sharing stories, and enjoying fun games and activities that strengthen both faith and fellowship. This program reminds us that we are one school family, walking together in Christ’s love.

    Wednesday Mass Attendance Guidelines
Wednesday Mass is a special occasion for our students and should be observed in a prayerful manner with minimal interruptions. To ensure that students remain focused throughout the service, we kindly request that there be no movement in and out during Mass.
Parents are encouraged to attend; however, we ask that you please be seated by 2:00 PM. If you need to pick up a child for early dismissal, please do so before 1:50 PM or after 2:45 PM.
Thank you for your cooperation and support!

Celebrating 40 Years of Excellence! Our 40th Anniversary Celebration was an incredible success! The students had a fantastic time commemorating four decades of outstanding education together. It's hard to believe that back in 1984, Summerville Catholic School opened its doors to just 21 students. Today, we proudly serve 264 students from K3 through Eighth Grade!  A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating this significant milestone. We are eagerly looking forward to another 40 years of providing high-quality Catholic education!

We are thrilled to announce that this year's annual auction was an incredible success! Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful parents and local vendors, we received a fantastic array of donations. Some of the amazing items auctioned off included beautifully hand-sewn blankets, a stunning crocheted nativity scene, and an exciting assortment of class baskets ranging from festive fiesta themes to delightful date night packages. Additionally, we showcased many charming class crafts that added to the fun!

In total, the auction raised over $31,000, which will be dedicated to much-needed improvements for our school. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event such a memorable celebration!
