Grievances (Complaints)
A grievance is a formal way for employees to express their discontent with one or more aspects of their employment. It allows employees to communicate and file a written complaint. A grievance could be regarding yourself or another employee.
Summerville Catholic School's Grievance Procedures:
Submit an Employee Grievance Form - All Employee Grievance Form submissions are confidential. Submissions go directly to Cierra as the school's Human Resources representative. From there, forms will either be routed to a supervisor (e.g. Charlie, Caitlin, or Fr. Ray) or directly to the HR department in the Diocese.
Special note: All grievances must be formally documented using the Employee Grievance Form. Employees should refrain from discussing grievances with one another. Any grievance verbally expressed to Charlie, Caitlin or Cierra will be requested to be formally documented in an Employee Grievance Form.
Once your Employee Grievance Form has been received, you will be notified via Slack (in writing) that your grievance has been reviewed, as well as an outline of next steps if applicable.
Note: If your grievance is against the school's Human Resources representative, skip the above procedures and go straight to Charlie. If your grievance is against Charlie or Caitlin, you must complete the school's Employee Grievance Form before going directly to Fr. Ray.
