Financial Assistance

Scholarship & Tuition Assistance Information

Many families want to send their children to a Catholic school, but cannot do so without financial assistance. In order to help make Catholic school education more affordable, there are several tuition assistance programs offered by Summerville Catholic and the Diocese of Charleston.

To be considered for financial assistance, student(s) must be registered for the upcoming school year (including payment of registration fee) and families must submit a “verified” FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment.

Erin Kelly Memorial Scholarship and Grant

Part of the mission of Summerville Catholic School is to make Catholic education affordable to as large a part of the Catholic Community as possible. The Erin Kelly Memorial Scholarship and Grant Fund, a tuition assistance program, was established in 1988 to provide help to families who otherwise would be unable to attend Summerville Catholic School.

Erin Kelly Memorial Grant

The Erin Kelly Memorial Grant is now Summerville Catholic School’s exclusive tuition assistance funding source. To apply, families must complete the grant application as well as the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment.

Unlike the Erin Kelly Memorial Scholarship, the Erin Kelly Memorial Grant does not have an official deadline. Grants will be awarded until the annual limit has been reached. Families are encouraged to apply by March 1, to ensure funding is available.

Elizabeth Ann Seton Award

The Diocese of Charleston St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Tuition Assistance Grant is funded by the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Endowment. The purpose of this grant is to assist Catholic families wishing to send their children to a Diocesan elementary or high school who require financial assistance. Applications are available through the school.

Catholic families in good standing, with their pastor’s endorsement, are eligible for a St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Tuition Assistance Grant.

Families must apply by the March deadline through the school they will be attending for the year applying. Applications cannot be submitted without “Verified” FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment.

NO applications will be accepted by the Catholic Schools Office directly from the requesting family.

Deadline: March 31st
