A school can only be as successful as its volunteers. Recognizing the value of parental involvement, it is school policy to utilize the help of parents in as many areas of the school program as possible. In order that our school community might benefit from the time and talents of all its families, each school family (parents or grandparents) are asked contribute a minimum of 20 hours of service to the mission of the school. Opportunities for service include homeroom parents, lunchtime recess helpers, hot lunch servers, field trip chaperones, teacher aides, front office help, library assistants, computer instructors, and other services as needs arise. We are grateful to anyone who can donate time and energy to our school. Upon arrival, please be certain to report to the main office to sign in the volunteer log and receive a visitor sticker. All visitors must wear a visitor sticker while on campus.
In maintaining a safe environment for our children, all parents and volunteers of the school (driving for field trips, coaching school athletics, volunteering in the classrooms, helping with hot lunch, sitting in on classes, etc.) must have a SLED background screening, complete VIRTUS training, submit a signed copy of the Diocesan Volunteer Code of Conduct and the Diocesan Sexual Abuse Policy. Forms will be provided to parents or any other individual for completion and are available on the school website. Additionally, for safety reasons, younger siblings or young children should not accompany volunteers working at the school. Please return to the office at departure time to sign out. |
