Admission Procedures

Summerville Catholic School, accredited by the Diocese of Charleston, serves the Catholic parishes in Summerville and outlying areas. We welcome all students who are interested in a Catholic education, regardless of sex, race, creed, or national or ethnic background.

In accordance with South Carolina State Law and the policy of the Diocese of Charleston

• Kindergarten children for the 4 -year -old program must be 4 years old by September 1 of  the school  year.
• Kindergarten children for the 5 -year -old program must be 5 years old by September 1 of  the school  year.
• First grade children must have attended kindergarten and  must be 6 years old by September  1 of the  school year.

The registration process is completed  ONLY when: 

• A Student Registration Form is completed for EACH child.
• Yellow Family Registration Card is completed.  
• Non -refundable Registration fees are paid. (See Tuition and Fee Schedule for rate)  
• Non -refundable Capital Improvement Fee is paid. (See Tuition and Fee Schedule for rate)  
• Non -refundable Book Fees are paid. (See Tuition and Fee Schedule for rate)  
• Non -refundable Activity Fee is paid. (See Tuition and Fee Schedule for rate)  
• Signed  Tuition Policy
• Lilac form completed and signed
• FACTS registration  completed if  you  are not already enrolled 
• Birth Certificate is submitted.  (New families) 
• Parish Letter is submitted (for parishioner rate). Parishioner Form [PDF]
• Standardized testing and report  cards for the past two years for Grades 1 -8 are submitted. (New families)

NOTE: After a review of the student’s records, the school office will contact you. They will also advise you if an interview is necessary. Academic status, medical information, curriculum, etc., will be discussed at time of interview. Placement testing will be determined on an individual  basis following evaluation of  previous test scores.  

Additional forms required:  

• SC Immunization Certificate (DHEC 1148)- due before school begins.
• Baptismal Certificate (Catholic families/and new families only)
• DSS Form 2900 for K4 students only
